The City of Rockingham is preparing a Local Planning Strategy to set the vision and strategic direction for the future planning of the City.

We estimate we will need to accommodate an additional 60,000 people/25,000 dwellings by the year 2036.

Extensive community engagement was undertaken in late 2021, which provided us with some insight about where the community would like to see development focused. This included residential infill rather than sprawl, within close to public transport and employment/activity centres. In addition, the State Government provides direction about where development should be targeted.

We are now seeking feedback from the community to confirm which elements are most important when considering where development should be located and what it should look like.

Note: Additional dwellings will occur through a combination of infill (development in existing areas through redevelopment or subdivision) and greenfield development opportunities (currently undeveloped land).

The City has been divided into five precinct areas. Each page of questions in this survey are specific to one of four precinct areas. Please note that significant planning for the Karnup Precinct will be undertaken separately in the medium term therefore is not included in this survey. You will have an opportunity to provide feedback as part of that separate process.
